18/02/2024

In commemorating its 175th anniversary, Patek Philippe has unveiled an exclusive edition of the Grandmaster Chime, solidifying its position as the most intricate wristwatch in the brand's regular production. The Grandmaster Chime Ref. 6300G-010 now debuts in white gold, featuring two captivating blue opaline dials, each dedicated to distinct aspects of horological mastery. One dial intricately focuses on the time and sonnerie, while the other is entirely committed to the full instantaneous perpetual calendar.

The case of the Grandmaster Chime Ref. 6300G-010, measuring 47.7 mm x 16.07 mm, boasts a hand-guilloched hobnail pattern, showcasing Patek Philippe's meticulous attention to detail. Notably, the case incorporates a patented reversing mechanism, providing the wearer the option to display either dial as desired.

This exceptional timepiece houses four spring barrels, including two double barrels specifically designated for the striking work and minute repeater mechanisms. Boasting a total of 20 complications, the Grandmaster Chime Ref. 6300G-010 exemplifies the pinnacle of watchmaking prowess:

1. Grande Sonnerie

2. Petite Sonnerie

3. Minute repeater

4. Strikework mode display: Silence/Grand Sonnerie/Petite Sonnerie (SGP)

5. Alarm with time strike

6. Date repeater

7. Movement power-reserve indicator

8. Strikework power-reserve indicator

9. Strikework isolator display

The two dials together offer a symphony of information. When the crown points to the right, the wearer is presented with local time, a second-time zone with day/night indication, power-reserve indicators, winding crown position, and strikework mode selection. The calendar dial features four subdials displaying the month, date, leap-year cycle, and day of the week, surrounding a gold-framed four-digit year display in the center. The perpetual instantaneous date, along with the current time, is elegantly displayed on both dials.

At the heart of the Grandmaster Chime Ref. 6300G-010 beats the hand-wound caliber 300 GS AL 36-750 QIS FUS IRM, an impressive assembly of 1,366 parts. Operating at 2.5 Hz (25,200 vph), the movement provides a power reserve of 72 hours, while the autonomy of the striking work extends to 30 hours.

This new edition featuring blue dials replaces the previous white gold version with black and white dials. It comes accompanied by white-gold cuff links adorned with blue opaline centers and the signature hobnail pattern. While the case is humidity and dust-protected, it is important to note that it is not water-resistant.

Completing this ensemble, the Grandmaster Chime Ref. 6300G-010 is paired with a shiny navy blue alligator leather strap featuring square scales, secured with a fold-over clasp. This extraordinary timepiece, priced at Swiss Francs 2,260,000, signifies Patek Philippe's continued commitment to its legacy of horological excellence.
